Hille Perl, a star of the viola da gamba, and Murat Coşkun, a world-class percussionist with his exquisite finger technique, have been working together for many years: concert tours together, their own projects and performances with the Freiburger Barock Consort.  Now they are presenting themselves for the first time as a duo with their concert program Here and Now.

As masters of their craft, well versed in Baroque music and improvisation, these two musicians of passion bring refreshing interpretations of Renaissance compositions from Spain and England, while also venturing into the ornamental world of Ottoman rhythms and Arabesques.

This musical encounter between two unpretentious and open- cosmopolitan artists is filled with vibrant energy as they bring wildly expressive Chaconne dances to life. Yet, they also summon the deep melancholy of English melodies, where the viola da gamba seems to weep.

The duo moves in a unique way within a dynamic space between composed music and the art of improvisation, engaging in spontaneous, direct communication and thereby creating musically captivating moments
