Murat Coşkun's solo program is a very individual declaration of love to the frame drums. Within this framework, the musician is completely inspired by the possibilities for playing them. Colorful varied sounds and melodies rise from the silence. They merge in a dance-like frenzy of sounds rich with overtones and an almost mystical ambience.

RhythmVoiceTrio heißt das neue Projekt des Percussionisten Murat Coskun gemeinsam mit dem New Yorker Meisterperkussionist und 4-facher Grammy Preisträger Glen Velez und Lori Cotler, der begnadeten Rhythmus-Sängerin mit der „schnellsten Zunge der Welt“. In diesem außergewöhnlichen Programm kreieren sie zusammen eine Stimmung voller rhythmischer Klangpoesie. Lori Cotlers bezaubernde Stimme wird zum Rhythmusinstrument, die virtuosen Trommeln und Percussion Instrumente entwickeln eine eigene gesangliche Stimmung und treten in Dialog. Die Hörer werden auf einzigartige Weise in den Bann von Rhythmussprache, mystischen Liedern und rasanten Jazzimprovisationen gezogen. Die Musiker schöpfen dabei aus alten Traditionen Indiens, der Türkei und Ländern des Orients sowie aus der modernen Musik des Okzidents. Was dabei heraus kommt, ist eine Musik, die gerade diese Begriffe wie „Tradition“ oder „Moderne“ hinter sich lässt, über Definitionen wie „Okzident“ und „Orient“ schmunzelt und ihnen mit unbändiger Spielfreude und fast grenzenloser Entdeckungslust ein trommelndes Augenzwinkern entgegen singt...

Jazz enriched with the finest and spiciest seasonings of an oriental bazaar! Since 1995 the ensemble FisFüz plays „oriental jazz “ and that of the most exquisite! The ensemble founded by Annette Maye and Murat Coskun received the SWR-World Music Preis in 1998 and since then have appeared at important international festivals in North - and Western Europe, in the entire Balkans, among others Jazz-festival in Sofia, North-Africa, Iran etc. The skillfully performed improvisations by the exceptional clarinetist Annette Maye are very multi-faceted in their timbre, change between humour and melancholy, night and day, cool and warm, west and east. Gürkan Balkans gets his oud to „sing“ with ornamental melodic patterns and delicate tonality. Through his new harmonic and melodic expressiveness, he leaves traditional borders behind. On his frame drum as well as various percussive instruments Murat Coskun delivers the fit ting pulse with much tactfulness: A down to earth performance alternates with superior solo acts and frequent technical as well as melodic refinement. The music's effect is mature and close-knit but nevertheless remaining lively and spontaneous. In their new program - almost completely self-compositions - they combine slick oriental tones and peculiar modern scales with an obvious ease of long-time experience . The creative contact with the most variety of rhythms spreads with it an endless joy of playing!

The percussion ensemble “Tamburo Mundi” brings together three internationally known percussionists: Andrea Piccioni (Italy) - Gilson de Assis (Brazil) - Murat Coskun (Turkey). The music of this unique combination emerges from a common source—the frame drum, an integral part of Italian, Brazilian, and Turkish music traditions.
The irrepressible delight in performing and the boundless fun in exploring when the musicians drum, sing, and dance all creates a totally new synthesis: effortlessly the Italian singing merges with the Roma dance of the Balkans, the oriental trance rhythmics become funky hip-hop grooves and the musicians dance Tarantella dances to Brazilian Samba.
All the musicians possess a convincing knowledge of their own musical traditions and a virtuosity and mastery of their instruments. With humor, charm, and spontaneity, “Tamburo Mundi” presents their new program, with an irresistible magic of beating drums.

The four musicians have been working for many years in different professional ensembles for early music and perform concerts nationally and internationally with much success. The Concert-Program: In the first part the ensemble interprets spanish songs of the 13th century(Cantigas d'amigo des Martin Codax) which tells of the longing and passion of unfulfilled love. The second part gives rise to the spirited music of the Italian Trecento in the 14th century, in that the quartet's love to this old yet very vital music is expressed in a fresh and natural fashion.
